Happy New Year and Welcome to day 1 of 21 days of Prayer. Start your day with this thought - I will beat defeat!
That's right, you are a winner and not a loser!
Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD."
No matter what you have been facing or what you will have to "stare down", you are equipped to overcome it.
You will beat defeat because there isn't any weapon, device, word or attack that can catch you off guard. Even if it is specifically designed against you, your readiness is a spiritual preparation that God has placed inside of you and me to make us strong! All we have to do is activate faith to see the situation through the lenses of God's promises.
In the Rocky movies, he was called the Italian stallion because he had an inner strength to keep coming back like a young stallion with a secret source of power and strength. In every fight, he'd get beaten down to the mat and then he would start remembering his training, his past wins, remembering those who loved him, seeing them cheering for him and he could hear the voice of his trainer saying, "get up, get up you bum, get up!" If you've seen any of those movies, you know that's when the Rocky music starts playing. Wow! We all know what's about happen next. You start smiling because the other guy is about to lose the fight because through his swollen eyes and hurting body, the Italian stallion is getting up and he will beat defeat!
That's you! Get up, get up you bum, get up! Find the strength, rehearse your training, see your support system, hear the voice of our God speaking in the ear of your heart and be the winner He has called you to be.
Father, in the name of Jesus, this year I will beat defeat. Thank you for the promise that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. As long as I stay in the fight and fight by faith and not by sight, I will win! Let Your grace and mercy cover and keep me through every circumstance that comes my way. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
