Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you (I Peter 5:6). Humility is an internal awareness that in Him you live and move and have your being, your very existence. You surrender to God your life's plan in exchange for His wisdom, guidance, protection, and eternal life.

WHY?

He is greater than you and I. John 1:1-3

Understand that his ways are not like our ways. Isaiah 55:8-9

Mediate in the word day and night. Joshua 1:8

Believe that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Love and pray for those who hate you and intentionally mistreat you. Luke 6:27-28

Enjoy the benefits and blessings of the Spirit-filled lifestyle as a result of your obedience to his word. Ephesians 1:3

The most humble prayer a person could pray is a prayer of repentance.

LET'S PRAY

Dear God,

When I do things my way without your wisdom and protection, I often lose the battle. And, life gets messy.

I'm asking you to forgive me when I ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit because I'm too busy trying to do things my way.

In all my ways, I acknowledge you and I believe you will direct my paths, in the name of Jesus, amen.
