ATTRIBUTES OF DUPLICITY

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8)”. A person who operates in duplicity intentionally gives one or two impressions for the purpose of misleading an individual only for the trickster’s benefit. Either or both impressions may be false.

It’s a crafty game powered by deceit.

There’s only one who is the supreme author of duplicity (commonly known today as deception).

He is the father of lies. He is Satan, incarnate.

“If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open (James 1:5-8, MSG).”

God does not want us to act in two different ways to different people concerning the same manner. Duplicity is akin to double mindedness, deception, deceit, trickery, and hypocrisy to name five.

ATTRIBUTES OF DUPLICITY

Duplicity has mood swings.

Duplicity will cause you to err.

Duplicity is a polished ivy-league sin but its end is death.

The attractiveness of duplicity is its variableness but it yields disastrous outcomes.

Duplicity has two faces with two different results only benefiting

the one who’s calling the shots.

Duplicity is Satan’s plastic surgery to reconstruct his appearance to deceive those who are walking in the light of Jesus Christ.

LET’S PRAY

Dear God,

Help me by your Holy Spirit, to recognize every good and perfect gift that comes from you, the Father of lights. Give me the power to discern what is good and what is evil.

Help me to be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath as I lay aside all characteristics of naughtiness and duplicity so that my soul remains pure in your sight, in the name of Jesus, amen.
