"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people, (Matthew 4:19 (NIV).” What does this scripture translate to in 2017? For High Hopes Church, “We exist to inspire hope and season faith through Jesus Christ by teaching people to love, serve, and lead. Leading is nothing more than one big fishing trip consisting of people sharing similar values and beliefs aiming for the same results.

Jesus, one of the world’s greatest leaders, trained his followers than sent them out to repeat what he had done with them.

Here’s the process:

Follow Jesus. Train the followers. Send the followers out to go fishing for more followers.

This is our mission for life.

The life of leading is validated by followers who share the same values and beliefs aiming for the same results and repeat the process successfully.

Our followers may vary in size but the mission remains the same.

LET'S PRAY

Dear Big Brother Jesus,

I’m so glad that I’ve made a decision to follow you. Thank you for teaching your disciples to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

As a follower, I realize that I have a responsibility to lead others to you. Help me to be a leader in my home, in my church, and in the marketplace.

Give me a desire to share my knowledge of God with others.

Give me a desire to share my gifts and talents with others and to teach others who have a desire to learn.

Holy Spirit, help me follow when it’s time to follow.

Holy Spirit, help me to teach and train when it’s time to teach and train.

Holy Spirit, help me to release new leaders when it’s time so that they can recruit more followers and successfully repeat the process, in the name of Jesus, amen.
