The truth of serving is growth. It's your key to growth. The more you serve the more you grow as a contributor. You cease to be a taker and become a giver. After all, you can only give what you have. And when God sees a heart sincerely desiring to serve others but lacking what is needed, He equips that person to do so.
In Matthew 20:26-28, we learn that Jesus did not come to be served but to serve and give his life so that others would be saved. And verse 26 explains that those who desire to become great leaders must first be great servants.
In other words, you learn the lessons being a great leader by learning what it takes to be a great follower.
I heard T.D. Jakes say, “You can't earn the right to manage others until you have learned to manage yourself”.
Remember to serve.
LET'S PRAY
Heavenly Father,
Forgive me when I've missed the mark by mistaking serving as minuscule. I desire to be more like Christ. Show me how to serve my gifts and talents to others so that I may grow and become a contributor to your kingdom, in the name of Jesus, amen.
