A TIME TO AGREE

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

Good day HHC Family and Friends. Welcome to Day 1 of 21 Days of Prayer! Over the next 21 days, many families, educators, students, schools, law enforcement and businesses will prepare and begin another back to school season. It is a time of ending summer vacations and beginning a new phase of learning.

During this time, we will pray together and agree with God's will to heal, deliver, protect and sustain us. Matthew 18:19, Jesus promises that "if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven".

That's powerful but notice it requires agreement. Each of you have something or someone where God's intervention is really needed. Use this season of prayer as a time to focus your faith in prayer.

Let's pray:

Father in heaven, we agree and act on your promise. I Chronicle 7:14, you promised that if your people, called by Your name, would humble themselves and pray, seek Your face and turn from their wicked ways, then You will hear our prayers in heaven, forgive our sin and heal our land.

We prepare our hearts and make ready to be light to the world.

We need Your presence in our homes.

We need Your presence on the buses, on the play ground, our schools and college campuses.

We ask you to cover and speak to every teacher and student. Help them to be allies working together, in agreement.

We bind confusion, violence and abuse. We recognize that grievous words stir strife but by your Grace we agree that by Your power, a soft answer will curb wrath.

We agree and and act on your promise that where two agree concerning a thing, that You will intervene. Let our prayer agree with Your will for parents to teach and train their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Lead our parents, teachers, our community and spiritual leaders to turn away from sin and live acceptably in Your sight.

We agree and act on your promise to heal our land ... Help us to leave the past in the past, learn from it and make wise decisions as a result of our experiences.

Thank you for being there, watching over us, reminding us that Your way is perfect, tried and it is a buckler to all who dare to put their trust in You.

We believe it, we receive and this season we will act on it, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
