"Nowadays we think we are too smart to believe in the Virgin birth of Jesus and too well educated to believe in the Resurrection. That's why people are going to the devil in multitudes (Billy Sunday, Christianity Today)." Famous mathematician and born again Christian, Blaise Pascal said, “Belief comes through the "heart". Pascal was not referring to mere feelings and sentiment but the “intuition that understands without having to use reason”.
As reported from Christianity Today, Pascal stated that God's grace makes it happen: "Do not be surprised at the sight of simple people who believe without argument. God makes them love him and hate themselves. He inclines their hearts to believe. We shall never believe with a vigorous and unquestioning faith unless God touches our hearts; and we shall believe as soon as he does so."
To win souls, we must have a passion for Christ just like the evangelist, Billy Sunday and the mathematician, Blaise Pascal.
Let's make it part of our life's mission to be passionate about what we believe. You don't have to be an evangelist or a famous mathematician to believe or tell others about Jesus Christ. Believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ will fuel one's passion to invite others into God’s kingdom.
Proverbs 11:30 states,
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise [for God—he gathers them for eternity, AMP] ”.
Pray for the lost today that they will believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to touch their hearts as they hear the good news.
