REVELATION

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

When the curtains are closed, you cannot see what’s outside the window. The moment the curtains open you receive knowledge, wisdom and insight. It was there all the time but it was not evident. This is what the Bible calls “revelation” the revealing of something or someone that was hidden. Today we pray for revelation and the application of God’s word.

The Holy Spirit reveals truth. "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come (John 16:13)".

Have you ever read a scripture but could not understand what you read? Your lack of understanding does not change the fact that there was something in that scripture that you did not see. Then one day, the Holy Spirit removes the curtain from that verse. Now, you can see what you never saw before. That’s revelation knowledge!

Revelation knowledge will profit your soulish man (i.e., mind (thinker), will (chooser), and emotions (feeler)), when you renew your mind (Romans 12:2). Renewing your mind is like peeling back the curtains. Studying God’s word provides spiritual nourishment that our spirit man identifies with. God’s word (John 6:63) provides the direction we should take but we still have to make our own decisions. True change takes place in our lives when revelation knowledge (Romans 10:10) is mixed with faith (Hebrews 4:2).

The difference between one believer who hears the word and yield results and another believer who hears the word but does not yield any results is revelation knowledge. The one who opens the closed curtains has applied the word to his thinker, chooser, and feeler; therefore, he gets results. This believer has mixed revelation knowledge with faith. Although the other believer heard the word, the curtains remained closed; therefore, no results, no change in behavior.

LET’S PRAY

Abba Father, thank you for salvation through Jesus Christ. I desire revelation knowledge of your Word revealed by the Holy Spirit so that I may experience breakthroughs in my life. Holy Spirit, help me to overcome my struggles as I renew my mind through God's word. Give me revelation of your word so that my mind will instruct me (Psalm 16:7). Remove the blinds from eyes and open the curtains, so that I may see and experience lasting change in my life, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
