"Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the [power and influence of the] Spirit of God can say, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is [my] Lord,” except by [the power and influence of] the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:3, AMP)". The Holy Spirit is our life-giver and inspiration. He gives us revelation.
Jesus tells us in John 16:7 (ESV), "Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you". Not only is the Holy Spirit our Helper, but he is our Advocate, our Comforter, our Teacher, and our Counselor.
Here are a just few examples of the power and influence of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of God's people:
The Holy Spirit intercedes for believers.
The love of the Holy Spirit motivates us to pray.
The power and influence of the Holy Spirit inspires praise and worship.
The power and influence of the Holy Spirit prompts the petitions, supplications, and thanksgivings of God's people.
The Holy Spirit of God has power and influence but He only responds when we ask for His assistance.
LET'S PRAY
Father God, I enter in through the blood of Jesus Christ. God, I ask for the power and influence of the Holy Spirit in my life. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to breathe life on my prayers, supplications, and thanksgivings. Open my eyes, Lord, give me revelation of your Word so that I may have clarity. Holy Spirit, I ask you to be my Advocate, Counselor, Comforter, Helper, Strengthener, and Teacher today, in the name of Jesus, amen.
