"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory (Isaiah 6:3).""Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It’s way over our heads. We’ll never figure it out.
Is there anyone around who can explain God? Anyone smart enough to tell him what to do? Anyone who has done him such a huge favor that God has to ask his advice? (Romans 11:33-34)".
"Everything comes from him; Everything happens through him; Everything ends up in him. Always glory! Always praise! Yes. Yes. Yes. (Romans 11:33-36)".
The Source
Everything comes from Him. God is the source.
The Effective Cause
Everything happens through Him. God is the effective cause. Nothing happens without His insight and permission.
The Final Cause
Everything ends up in Him. God is the final cause meaning everything he created was for his glory. We were created for God's glory.
“So don’t be afraid: I’m with you. I’ll round up all your scattered children, pull them in from east and west. I’ll send orders north and south: ‘Send them back. Return my sons from distant lands, my daughters from faraway places. I want them back, every last one who bears my name, every man, woman, and child Whom I created for my glory, yes, personally formed and made each one (Isaiah 43:5-7)".
Our highest purpose in life is to bring glory to God. Everything we think, speak, or do should ultimately bring glory to God. In him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). We live in him and we cannot live without him. Our existence is for God's glory.
LET'S PRAY
Father God, we desire to see the essence of your glory in this place we call home, earth. Even if I fail to give you the glory, You are Glory. As I fast and pray, I yield to the Holy Spirit to shape my mind, thoughts, attitude, and emotions so that I can reflect your glory in everything that I do. Thank you for revealing to me my highest purpose in life, that is to give you the glory, in the name of Jesus, Amen (so be it).
